Shore Club Wedding Hubbard's Nova Scotia
Sometimes you just never know where a wedding inquiry will come from. That certainly is the case when Amanda and Chris were looking for their photographer. The previous one had sadly fallen through (as can happen with the crazy change of events this past wedding season) . They had reached out on a Facebook Wedding Group where they asked if anyone was available for their upcoming nuptials. Myself being the 30th or so response, and being new in town AND without any contacts to vouch for me… I felt I had zero chance. And yet to my huge surprise, a lovely little red notification popped up in my messages while I was right in the middle of photographing Raph and Christine’s wedding in Montreal.
I wasted NO time and while everyone was eating and I had a 5 minute break- I quickly arranged for a zoom meet n greet for later that evening when my job was done. I warned Amanda and Chris- I’d be less than presentable after photographing in the 32 degree heat, but they didn’t seem dissuaded at all. The 3 of us hit it off and before we knew it- all of us were counting down the days until their October 16th wedding at the Shore Club in Hubbard’s Nova Scotia.
This being my first Nova Scotian wedding since moving here, my anticipation was high and adrenaline soaring through my veins. I was so excited that I even purchased my new Nikon z6 that very morning and got to give it a lovely test ride. (it did NOT disappoint!)
Amanda and Chris were beyond gracious, trusting and up for absolutely anything photo- wise. Naturally I wanted something a little different so off we made it to Purdy’s Warf immediately after the ceremony. They wanted a little mix of urban as well as nature, which Halifax has lots of both. We also ventured into The Lower Deck - a pub near and dear to their hearts for a pint and some cute photos. You’ll see in the images below the beautiful mix of city, and beach which was such a nice balance.
Once we made it in for the reception… I was beyond excited. LOBSTER was on the menu…and I knew in that moment- I could very much get use to weddings in Nova Scotia. Unpretentious yet absolutely perfect in every way….the dinner evolved into some much needed celebrating on the dancefloor.
Amanda and Chris- thank you a million times over for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. It was an INCREDIBLE day and I know we’ll see more of each other in the future (as we already have :)
