Nadia and Brad - Forest Stream Club Montreal

I must start off by saying that Nadia impacted me in a way no bride has.

Large statement. I know.

When we first met, it was like meeting an old friend. Someone I knew forever. She excited me. She had this radiance that was so beautiful. Her energy, overflowing with warmth and joy. We were discussing everything but wedding photography…and looking back on my email to her- I had to apologize. I didn’t properly do my ‘job’ on our first meeting… as there were things I actually needed to know in order to properly fulfill my future duties as her photographer!

Nonetheless a friendship was made and over the spring and summer we chatted here and there, keeping in contact and counting down the days until their October 5th wedding.

Nadia had told me countless times that she and Brad do NOT like their photo being taken. In her words: “Brad and I are very camera shy, we don’t like pictures.” I knew I had to make extra effort to make them both feel comfortable, respected, and at ease. I was NOT worried about them taking bad photos ( you’ll see below… helloooooo photogenic!!) But to be honest, it’s a very important aspect of being a wedding photographer. In that, we’re not just there to snap pictures…but to do so with respect, with awareness of whom we’re photographing. With love. This was easier than one might think because with such kindred spirits as Nadia and Brad - I once again was feeling like with family. With people who were part of my life for a very long time. That connection we all felt made for an easy day of documenting their vows, portraits and celebration of love.

Nadia - I hope you know how beautiful you truly are. Inside and out. You make me love my job over and over again. Your kindness to everyone around you including Brad - who by the way is such an attentive husband! It was a testament to who you both are as humble, down to earth incredible people. You touch the lives of everyone around you and I count it such an honor to be chosen to photograph your day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
