UBC Boathouse Wedding - Sarah and Matthew
Photographing a wedding is always an exciting and memorable experience, but capturing a wedding in the beautiful city of Vancouver takes it to a whole new level. The last time I was here was 10 years ago for yes- a wedding! This time was just as wonderful. Sarah and Matthews wedding took place in Vancouver, with them choosing two stunning venues for their special day—the Fairmont Vancouver for getting ready and the UBC Boathouse for their reception.
The day began at the Fairmont Vancouver, a most luxurious choice located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The bride and her bridesmaids prepared for the day in a spacious suite adorned with large windows that offered breathtaking views of the city. The natural light pouring into the room created a perfect atmosphere for capturing stunning portraits of the bride and her bridal party, as you’ll see below.
As a photographer, I took advantage of the Fairmont Vancouver's opulent interiors to create some timeless images. The grand staircase made for a stunning backdrop for the family portraits.
After capturing the getting-ready moments, we did their first look at the most exquisite location just across from the Fairmont Hotel- The Vancouver Art Museum. It was a dream come true for me as I love the massive pillars reminding me of Old Montreal. After their portraits in and around Yaletown we made our way to the UBC Boathouse for the wedding reception. Located on the picturesque shores of the Fraser River, the UBC Boathouse provided a breathtaking setting for celebrating the couple's union. With its modern architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and panoramic views of the river, it was such a perfect spot for their evening reception.
Inside the UBC Boathouse, the reception space was elegantly decorated to reflect the couple's style and personality. Soft lighting, bold and happy floral arrangements, and carefully chosen décor elements added to the ambiance of the evening.
Photographing Sarah and Matthews wedding in Vancouver allowed me to capture the true beauty of this vibrant city and the love shared between the couple. It was an unforgettable experience filled with breathtaking moments, and I was honored to be a part of their journey and preserve their memories through my lens.
